Wow... Summer went by so fast! Between graduation, America's Junior Miss, orientation, family trips, and school preparations, this has been one of the most eventful and fulfilling summers that I have ever witnessed. I feel so blessed to have had the opportunities presented to me through Junior Miss. Meeting the girls in Mobile and seeing their direction in life, love for others, and kindness that they consistently exude, I was thankful to be a part of such a unique experience. I met the most well-rounded, yet grounded, girls from accross the country, and I felt honored to be able to represent my state and the beautiful girls that I met there as well. Hey, and my roommate won! Go Lindsey!
With college on the radar and quickly approaching (I leave in a matter of days!), I am truly appreciating my family and the other relationships in my life. Going so far from home, I realize more and more that home is not a place but the people who surround you. Because I have such a strong support system here, it will be hard to venture to a new place, but at the same time, I'm excited that the place that I am headed is somewhat familiar with many friendly faces from the ones I met at AJM. College is an adjustment for everyone, and even though I am going far, I have my host family down there, and Oregon and Idaho will be joining me at school... should be fun! Junior Miss has been such an amazing experience, and as some of my AJM friends have passed on the legacy already, I am happy to be able to enjoy it for a little longer but look forward to handing down the experience to the next lucky girl. It has been a great ride! Anyway, I'm going to go get ready for the day, and hopefully I will be able to blog again once I get adjusted to school... see you soon! And thanks to everyone for all of the support this year!
P.S. Mamma Mia! I saw it in theatres, and I'm going to see it live tomorrow... what a great show! If you're reading this and you haven't seen it, I highly suggest you go! Such a feel-good movie :)
